What is a cycle class?

A cycle class is a workout that uses stationary bikes. Cycle classes can vary in intensity, but most classes involve pedalling at a moderate to high intensity for 45 minutes to an hour. Many cycle classes also incorporate upper body exercises, such as weightlifting or push-ups, to give you a full-body workout.

    Coach By Color® is simple, all you need to do is match the colour on your bike screen to the colour your instructor tells you. Coach By Color® is based on scientific evidence to take the guesswork out of your workouts.

  • Coach By Color® has 5 different coloured training zones which your instructor will ask you to work through. The colours are directly related to the amount of effort you are putting in, meaning that you and the instructor will know if you are working to the right level for you.

    Here are the colours and what they mean;

    White: <55% = Very Light

    Blue: 56-75% = Light

    Green: 75-90% = Moderate

    Yellow: 91-105% = Very Hard

    Red: 106-150+% = Maximum

  • To put it simply, it’s a method for accurately monitoring your riding intensity. The colour zone will be a product of your output in relation to your Functional Threshold Power (FTP). You will have an individual FTP personal only to you, and as such everyone will be riding a bike with a console personal to them and their ability. Speak to a member of our team at RH Studios to find out how to determine your FTP.

  • The colours ensure you are working in the right exercise threshold. If you’ve been to other indoor cycling classes you will know that you are asked to work through different intensity levels. In Coach By Color® you will be asked to do the same. The difference is that rather than having 1 intensity level for everyone, every individual’s colour zones will be different and personalised to you. For example, if you are super fit your Moderate training level will likely be at a much higher intensity than someone newer to fitness

  • The console uses its inbuilt technology to send all ride data to external devices.

    It is now possible to capture training-related data on external devices, ICG® Connect and the ICG® App via Bluetooth and ANT+

    After pairing with the ICG App or third party apps, training data is transferred from the WattRate® TFT Computer 2.0 more accurately, efficiently and in real time. No additional hardware is needed.
