10 things to know before your first cycle class

If you're looking to take your cycling workout to the next level, look no further than the indoor cycle class. This type of workout is a great way to get in shape and improve your endurance. In this blog post, we will discuss 10 tips for getting the most out of your indoor cycling class!

When you're starting your indoor cycling journey, chances are you've heard how intense the workouts may be or how your legs may feel like jelly afterwards. And these things are true. But as time goes on, your body will adjust and become stronger so that it can endure the entire session. You know the old saying, "No Pain No Gain" well, that's kind of the indoor cycle class motto.

Here are 10 tips to get the most out of your indoor cycle class:

  1. Show up early: This will give you time to set up your bike and make sure everything is adjusted properly.

  2. Warm-up: It's important to warm up before any workout, but it's especially important before an indoor cycle class. Start with some easy pedalling and then gradually increase your intensity.

  3. Wear the right clothing: You want to be comfortable during your workout, but you also don't want your clothes to get in the way. Wear form-fitting clothes that won't get caught on the bike or make you too hot. (Padded shorts, with a gym t-shirt or vest)

  4. Don't over grip the handle bars: This can cause strain on your wrists and shoulders. Instead, keep a light grip and let your upper body move with the rhythm of the cycle.

  5. Don't be afraid to go hard: Remember, the whole point of an indoor cycle class is to get a great workout. So don't be afraid to push yourself! Our instructors will coach you through the session to ensure you achieve your goal.

  6. Stay hydrated: It's important to stay hydrated during any workout, but it's especially important during a cycle class. Be sure to drink plenty of water before, during, and after your cycle class.

  7. Cool down: After your cycle class, it's important to cool down so you don't feel dizzy or lightheaded. pedal at a slower pace for a few minutes and then stretch. If you feel lightheaded or uneasy, be sure to let the instructor know so they can tend to you.

  8. Eat right: Eating a healthy meal before your cycle class will give you the energy you need to power through your workout. Great snacks like protein bars or you can have a drink of water that has electrolytes you're winning, as they help to replenish the nutrients lost through sweating.

  9. Get enough sleep: Getting a good night's sleep before your cycle class is important so you can be well-rested and ready to go.
